Pharmstandard to provide Lab Industries with expert support on labelling issues

08.11.2023

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation proposes to conduct an experiment in Russia on the labelling of household chemicals and cosmetics. The corresponding draft decree has been published on the portal of draft normative legal acts. The experiment is scheduled to run from 1 December 2023 to 28 February 2025.

Lab Industries will be one of the experiment's participants. According to the Lab Industries press service, the company's plants are currently deciding which lines will have the necessary hardware and software installed. It is vital for the company to factor in all the main points during the testing stage, so that in the future the system's implementation will not affect production speed and volumes as well as consumers, given the company's position in the market.

Expert support will be provided by Pharmstandard Group. Pharmstandard enterprises have been using the Chestny Znak system for labelling medicinal products since 2021. Participation in the project at the pilot stage allowed Pharmstandard Group to prepare for the introduction of mandatory drug labelling and enter the process as normal after eliminating emerging issues at the pilot stage.

Today, the company's enterprises feature centralised labelling areas operating in printing house mode. This is where codes for package labelling are printed. The centralisation not only minimised the risks of serialisation impacting existing production processes but also reduced the cost of production. The labelling process is integrated into the packaging line and blistering machine.

Russian company Medtech TD, specialising in the development and implementation of software and hardware for automatic labelling, serialisation, and aggregation, has outfitted the holding company's production lines with the necessary equipment.

Pharmstandard Group has also joined the initial stage of the dietary supplement labelling experiment.
