A new unit for manufacturing import-substituting asthmatic medicines (pulmo powder) was officially opened at Kursk factory. The total project cost equaled more than 1.9 bln rubles.
Deputy director of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry Development under the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Elena Denisova, first vice-governor of Kursk Region Aleksandr Zubarev, chairman of Industry, Transport and Communication Committee Sergei Shatalov, management and employees of Pharmstandard Company.
Director General Evgeny Prokhoda acquainted guests with the performance of Kursk factory and presented a new unit for manufacturing pulmo powder, and also a laboratory for quality control of medicines.
Implementation of this investment project will allow expanding the range of manufactured medicines by 14 more items and increase overall production in total by more than 5.4 mln packs a year.
Moreover, 134 new highly-efficient jobs are created here. As soon as Phs-Leksredstva JSC reaches full capacity, it will become the main in our country manufacturer of medicines for treating obstructive respiratory diseases, in particular, asthma.
First vice-governor of Kursk Region Aleksandr Zubarev wished employees of Pharmstandard continuing success noting that today Kursk factory is on top 5 largest manufacturers of medicines in Russia and is an active participant of state import-substituting program.
As noted on the website of Kursk Region administration, the factory significantly contributes to the regional economic development holding the third place in the region according to the production capacity and being one of the main employers and taxpayers. During the last 5 years about 4 bln rubles were allocated to the main capital and 63 new medicines were mastered.
Launch of a new manufacturing unit will allow Kursk factory continue implementation of import-substituting program.
