The Board Members of the Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Eurasian Economic Union (APMEEU) shared their comments on the industry development strategy adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation.
On June 19, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin announced the approval of the Strategy for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of the Russian Federation until 2030 (Strategy "Pharma - 2030"), which defines the main directions of state policy in the development of the pharmaceutical industry of the Russian Federation for the period until 2030.
The strategy was developed following the results of in-depth discussions with the community of professionals, including experts from the Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Eurasian Economic Union.
“The strategy to a great extent explains the approaches of the Government to the development of the industry. We, domestic manufacturers, have sufficient experience and expertise to achieve the main goal - to provide patients with advanced affordable medicines. Together with the regulator, we will have to find the most efficient support tools to achieve this goal,” commented Aleksey Kedrin, Chairman of the APMEEU Board.

Dmitry Zaytsev, Chief Executive Officer of JSC “Pharmstandard”, commenting on this issue, drew attention to the implementation of system for tracking the origin of active pharmaceutical ingredients:
“Our company believes that it is highly essential to establish an information system for tracking the origin of active pharmaceutical ingredients, since preferences to full-cycle manufacturers are already given at auction today under certain conditions established by Government Decree No. 1289. It is important for market participants that an information system based on leading-edge digital technologies be established to reliably show which medicinal products are manufactured from local pharmaceutical ingredients.”
