Moscow, September 18, 2020 — Gilead Sciences and Pharmstandard signed a Memorandum of Understanding that lays the foundation for their partnership to market, supply, localize, and distribute Veklury™ (remdesivir), a drug product for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, in the territory of Russia.

With this responsibility in mind, we strive to make remdesivir available in every country. Remdesivir has been approved for emergency use for the treatment of COVID-19 in the United States, has been registered in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, India, and has become the first drug approved for the treatment of COVID-19 in the European Union.

Veklury™ (remdesivir) is an antiviral drug that is being tested in numerous international clinical trials. The drug has been registered and recommended for use only in some countries.
